Reid Nichols serves as the National Cotton Council’s Committee for the Advancement of Cotton chairman. A 5th generation producer, he is a managing partner in Hess Farms and Western Plains Farms, based in Altus, OK, where he oversees diversified operations that include irrigated and dryland upland cotton and wheat. He also serves as ProCot Cooperative Marketing Pool vice chairman.
Nichols, who obtained his bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Oklahoma, is an Oklahoma Agriculture Leadership Program graduate. He has served as a NCC director and on multiple NCC committees among them the Packaging & Distribution and the Public Relations & International Development panels. Nichols, who participated in the NCC’s Producer Information Exchange, Policy Education Program and Emerging Leaders Program, is a Cotton Incorporated alternate director.
