According to the latest estimates from USDA, world cotton production is estimated to decline by 7 percent with the largest annual reductions in the U.S., Brazil, and Pakistan for the 2020 crop year. A 2.2 million bale decline in global production, as compared to last month, is led by lower U.S. output as well as 500,000 bale reductions in both India and Pakistan. Dr. Jody Campiche, Vice President of Economics and Policy Analysis for the National Cotton Council, joins us to break down the report and explain how containment of the pandemic and changes in consumer behavior impact the global fiber market.
