The National Cotton Council’s Producer Information Exchange program, which is also known as the P.I.E. Tour, allows cotton producers from the Mid-South and Southeast regions to experience cotton production and other agriculture-related operations throughout the Texas’ Rio Grande Valley and Coastal Bend regions this week.
To date, NCC’s P.I.E. Tours have allowed more than 1,200 U.S. cotton producers to see innovative production practices in Cotton Belt regions different than their own since the program was launched in 1989. Sponsored by BASF Agricultural Solutions through a grant to The Cotton Foundation, the P.I.E. Tour aims to help the cotton producers boost their farming efficiency.
Burke Hendrix, cotton farmer from Hernando, Mississippi, shares why this experience is important for growers and the industry.
