	Helms to Lead the National Cotton Council in 2006 Allen Helms, Jr., a Clarkedale, AR, producer, was elected NCC chairman for 2006 and succeeds Woods Eastland.
	Cotton Service Award Honors Bruce Brumfield Bruce Brumfield, a former National Cotton Council president and cotton producer from Inverness, MS, is the recipient of the 2005 Harry S. Baker Distinguished Service Award for Cotton.
	NCC Chairman's Report 2005 NCC Chairman Woods Eastland reported to delegates on NCC's major activities in 2005 saying that many of those will continue this year and the industry has ensured the NCC has the resources, dedicated staff and committed leadership to aggressively meet these challenges and take advantage of any new opportunities.
	National Cotton Council Names 2006 Directors NCC for 2006 were announced here at the industrywide organization’s annual meeting.
	Hardwick Elected Chairman of American Cotton Producers Jon W. “Jay” Hardwick, a producer from Newellton, LA, was elected chairman of the American Cotton Producers.
	National Cotton Council 2006 State Unit Officers Named NCC state unit officers for 2006 were elected at the industrywide organization’s annual meeting.

	Arizona Ginner to Lead NCGA in 2006 The National Cotton Ginners Association (NCGA) elected its officers for 2006 at its annual meeting here. The officers include president, Russell Kuhnhenn, Buckeye, AZ; first vice president, Van Murphy, Quitman, GA; second vice president, Chris Breedlove, Olton, TX; third vice president, Sledge Taylor, Como, MS; and chairman, Larry McClendon, Marianna, AR.
	Increased Global Demand Key to U.S Cotton’s Economic Health NCC economist Gary Adams told NCC delegates that the U.S. cotton industry’s economic health will be affected by cotton’s ability to regain global market share relative to manmade fibers.

	NCC Survey Suggests U.S. Producers to Plant 14.44 Million Acres of Upland and ELS Cotton in 2006 U.S. cotton producers intend to plant 14.44 million acres of cotton this spring, up 1.7 percent from 2005, according to the NCC's 23rd Annual Early Season Planting Intentions Survey.
	North Carolina Producer Named CCI President For 2006 David Burns, a Laurel Hill, NC, cotton producer, was elected president of Cotton Council International (CCI) for 2006.
