DALLAS, TX – William B. Dunavant, III, a merchant from Memphis, TN, was elected president of Cotton Council International (CCI) for 2002.
Dunavant was named during CCI’s board meeting, which convened February 8 at the National Cotton Council’s annual meeting here today. CCI is the NCC’s export promotions arm.
Dunavant succeeds Hans G. Kretschmer, an El Paso, TX, cooperative official. Kretschmer becomes CCI board chairman, succeeding J. Larry Nelson, a producer from Edmonson, TX.
Other CCI officers elected for 2002 are first vice president Robert A. Carson, Jr., producer, Marks, MS; second vice president David Stanford, cooperative official, Lubbock, TX; and treasurer Gary W. Taylor, merchant, Cordova, TN. Gaylon B. Booker of Memphis, TN, was re-elected as secretary and Allen A. Terhaar of Washington, DC, was re-elected assistant secretary.
CCI elected seven new directors for 2002: Gail Kring, a crusher from Lubbock, TX; Sid Brough, a ginner from Edroy, TX; J. Walker Clarke, a merchant from Columbia, SC; Eduardo L. Esteve, a merchant from Dallas, TX; Rodger C. Glaspey, a merchant from Fresno, CA; Bob Mayberry, a producer from Lake Arthur, NM; and Ted D. Sheely, a producer from Lemoore, CA.
